Terms of Service
Effective 17 August 2026
Plot Pulse is operated by Plot Technologies Inc. (“Plot Technologies”, “we”, “us”), a corporation with its office at Catalyst Commons, 137 Glasgow St., Suite 210, Kitchener, Ontario N2G 4X8, Canada.
These Terms are an agreement between you and Plot Technologies covering plot.team and the phone calls and text messages we place as part of it (together, “Plot Pulse” or “the Service”). By entering a phone number, answering one of our calls, or using the site, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not enter a number.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with personal information and forms part of these Terms.
1. What Plot Pulse does
Plot Pulse runs surveys by telephone, using an AI agent instead of a human interviewer.
- A creator enters their phone number. Our AI agent calls them and talks through what they want to learn, writes that up as a brief and a public description, and produces a shareable link — a plot.
- Anyone with the link can read that description and enter their own number to be interviewed. We call them, the agent asks an opening question and follows the conversation from there. Those people are respondents.
- What respondents say is written up as short text captures and rolled into a single summary for the creator. The summary aggregates. It does not attribute anything to a named person.
2. Who may use it
You must be 18 or older. Plot Pulse is not for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Do not enter the number of someone who is.
3. Phone numbers, calls, and texts
This is the section that matters. Read it before you enter a number.
3.1 Only enter a number you are entitled to enter
By entering a phone number you represent that it is your own, or that you are the person entitled to consent to calls and texts at it. Entering someone else’s number without their permission breaches these Terms and may break the law where you or they live — in the United States the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and in Canada the CRTC’s Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation. If you do it, what follows is on you.
3.2 Entering a number is a request to be called
You are asking us to call you. You consent to receive, at that number, from Plot Technologies:
- a phone call placed by an automated system and conducted by an artificial voice — an AI agent, not a person;
- a text message containing the link to the plot;
- text messages containing sign-in codes, when you ask for one;
- follow-up text messages about that same plot, including further questions from its creator as the brief develops.
Consent is not a condition of buying anything. There is nothing to buy; Plot Pulse is free.
3.3 Rates, and stopping
Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier sets them; we do not. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Stopping texts does not delete what you have already told us — see the Privacy Policy for that.
3.4 You are talking to an AI
Every call is conducted by an AI agent, which says so at the start. It is not a person. It is not a professional adviser of any kind. It can be wrong.
3.5 The confirmation code
When you ask for a call, the page shows you a two-digit code and the agent asks you to read it back. This exists so a mistyped or maliciously entered number cannot turn into an interview. If you pick up a call from us and you are not looking at a screen showing you a code, you did not request that call — please hang up. After two wrong codes the agent ends the call.
3.6 One call per request
We place one call for each request. If you miss it, ask again from the same page.
4. Plot links
A plot’s URL is a long random string, and that URL is the only thing protecting it. Anyone holding the link can read the plot’s public description and ask to be called about it; anyone who holds it and completes an interview can read the summary.
So share it only with people you actually want to hear from, treat it like a password, and understand that you cannot un-share it. There is currently no way to revoke a link. If one gets out, write to us at privacy@plot.team and we will close the plot.
Do not guess, enumerate, or brute-force plot URLs.
4.1 Plots do not last forever
A plot is deleted 12 months after its last activity, and its summary goes with it — for you and for everyone who took part. If a summary matters to you, keep your own copy; we will not warn you before it goes. A creator can also delete their own plot at any time from its page, which is immediate and cannot be undone. The Privacy Policy sets out what is kept and for how long.
5. If you create a plot
- You choose who gets called. Every respondent enters their own number, but you decide who sees your link. Do not send it to people who would not want a phone call, do not post it where it will reach people indiscriminately, and do not send it to anyone who has asked you to leave them alone.
- The brief is yours. You are responsible for what you ask about and for what you do with the answers.
- Do not use a plot to collect sensitive information. Do not design one to gather health information, financial account details, government identifiers, precise location, information about someone’s sex life or sexual orientation, immigration status, union membership, religion, racial or ethnic origin, or biometric data — and do not use Plot Pulse for anything that functions as a background check or as a decision about credit, employment, insurance, housing, or eligibility for a public benefit.
- Do not try to re-identify respondents. The summary is aggregated on purpose. Do not attempt to work out who said what, and do not combine it with anything else to do so.
- Your context, your rules. If you survey people in a setting with its own requirements — employees, patients, students, research subjects, customers in a regulated industry — meeting those requirements is yours to do, including any ethics review or consent your setting demands.
6. If you answer a plot
- What you say is turned into short written captures and folded into a summary the creator reads. Assume the creator will learn the substance of everything you say.
- The summary aggregates and does not name you, and your phone number is never shown to the creator.
- Anonymity has one limit, and it is yours to control. If you say your name, or something only you would say, it can reach the summary. We instruct the AI never to attribute a statement to an individual, and it is not told your number. It cannot unsay something you chose to say.
- Do not say things about other people that they would not want repeated, and do not volunteer sensitive information about yourself — see the list in section 5. A survey is not the place for it.
7. Acceptable use
Do not:
- enter a phone number you are not entitled to enter;
- use Plot Pulse to harass, threaten, defraud, or deceive anyone, or to run a survey that is a pretext for any of that;
- use it for telemarketing, political or charitable solicitation, debt collection, or any other call whose real purpose is to sell, solicit, or collect;
- submit numbers in bulk, automate submissions, or reach the Service through anything but its intended interface;
- probe, scan, or test the security of the Service, guess plot URLs, interfere with calls, or try to reach any part of our systems you were not given access to;
- reverse engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing one;
- say or upload anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights.
We may suspend or close any plot, or block any phone number, if we believe this section has been broken — usually without notice, because the harm falls on someone else.
8. What you say stays yours
You keep everything you own in what you say and write. You grant Plot Technologies a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, and process it for one purpose only: operating Plot Pulse — placing the call, writing the captures, generating and showing the summary, and keeping the service running and secure.
That licence is deliberately narrow. We do not use what you say to train, tune, or evaluate AI models, ours or anyone else’s, and our providers are not permitted to either. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising. The Privacy Policy sets out the detail.
9. Our stuff
Plot Pulse, its software, and its name are ours. These Terms give you permission to use the Service and nothing more.
10. This is an early product
Plainly: Plot Pulse is new. Calls may not connect. The AI may misunderstand you, ask something odd, or write a summary that misses the point. Features may change or disappear, and we may take the whole thing down.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or accurate.
Do not rely on a summary for a decision that matters without checking it yourself.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- Plot Technologies is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, however caused; and
- Plot Technologies’s total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — currently nil, since Plot Pulse is free — and CAD $100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. If you are a consumer in Ontario, nothing here affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002; if you are a consumer in Quebec, nothing here affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (Quebec). Where a limitation above is unenforceable against you it does not apply to you, and the rest of this section still stands.
12. Indemnity
If you breach section 3.1, 5, or 7 and someone brings a claim against us because of it, you will defend, indemnify, and hold Plot Technologies harmless from that claim, including reasonable legal fees. We will tell you about the claim promptly and let you control the defence, so long as you do not settle in a way that admits anything on our behalf or leaves us with an obligation.
13. Ending it
You can stop at any time: stop using the site, and reply STOP to texts. To have your information deleted, follow the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or end your access, or close a plot, if you breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the Service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell the creator at the number that created it.
Sections 8 through 12, 14, and 15 survive the end of this agreement.
14. Governing law and where disputes go
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
You and Plot Technologies submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.
There is no arbitration clause in these Terms, and no class-action waiver. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes a right you have under the law of your home jurisdiction to bring a claim in your local court or to complain to a regulator, whatever a contract says.
15. The rest
- Changes. We may change these Terms. If a change is material we will post the new version with a new effective date and, where we have a number for you, tell you. Continuing to use Plot Pulse after that means you accept it. Changes are not retroactive.
- Severability. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce something, we have not given it up.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to an affiliate, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Plot Technologies about Plot Pulse.
- Language. Les parties ont demandé que la présente convention et tous les documents s’y rapportant soient rédigés en anglais. The parties have requested that this agreement and all related documents be drawn up in English.
